In Canada, more than 7.5 million volunteers donate their time, energy and services to 175,000 not-for-profit organizations. Volunteers contribute 1.1 billion hours of their time yearly—the equivalent of 578,000 full-time jobs—and their contribution is estimated at $16 billion annually.
If you would like to volunteer with one of our community special events like the Scotiabank Rat Race in June or the Enbridge CN Tower Climb in October, please visit UWT's Event Support page or contact United Way Toronto's Volunteer Coordinator for more information on making a difference - 416 777 2001 or volunteer@uwgt.org.
And remember, your volunteer hours with United Way will count towards your 40 hours of community service for secondary school graduation.
