Volunteer at United Way

United Way volunteers

We couldn't do it without you. Volunteers enable us to successfully and smoothly run our operations and events. We have many important and fulfilling volunteer opportunities that will support the community and help make a better future for our city, including: event support, operational support and allocation panel.

If you'd like to put your professional skills to work at one of our member agencies, check out our Professional Volunteering opportunities.

Event support

Volunteer at the Enbridge CN Tower Climb for United Way

You can get involved at this event by supporting our events team—it’s fun and easy to do.

Register online for one of the various volunteer positions available on October 20, 22, or 23, 2011. It’s a great way to learn new skills, meet people and support the cause.

Operational Support

Throughout the year, we have many vital volunteer opportunities available at our office that enable us to run our United Way operations. Volunteering at United Way is a great way to meet new people and develop your skills. Your donated time and talent will help the work of United Way to strengthen our neighbourhoods and improve the lives of many across our city.

There are currently no Operational Support Volunteer positions available.

For other volunteering opportunities, fill out our general volunteer form or contact our volunteer coordinator at volunteer@uwgt.org or 416 777 1444 ex 255 and we'll get you on your way for a rewarding and exciting experience. You can make a difference!

Allocation Panel

volunteer Adwoa

"Each volunteer gives about 80 to 100 hours. At the allocation level, it's an intense commitment and involves serious dedication."

Panel Volunteers review member agency funding applications to make funding-level recommendations to United Way’s Board of Trustees in support of our member agencies. Panel Volunteers play an important role in ensuring donor dollars are spent according to current and emerging community service needs as efficiently and effectively as possible.

However, we have decided to pause recruitment of new volunteers this year, while we undergo an organizational transformation as part of our journey to become a Community Impact organization.

Please continue to check our website for updates on the application process for Panel Volunteers in 2013.
