Workplace Campaign

The United Way campaign in your workplace offers a variety of volunteer opportunities.

Volunteer roles range from offering an hour of your time to help set up an agency speaker event to spending several weeks or months coordinating your entire workplace campaign.

The core campaign committee consists of an Employee Campaign Chair (ECC) and several committee members who coordinate a significant portion of the employee campaign. Some of the most critical committee positions and their key functions include:

  • Co-ECC: supports the ECC and moves on to lead the campaign the following year
  • Communications Coordinator: builds awareness in your workplace about the campaign and the work of United Way in the community
  • Canvassing Coordinator: recruits and trains canvassers and organizes canvassing in your workplace
  • Recognition Coordinator: develops and implements a plan to thank all donors, volunteers and suppliers
  • Special Events Coordinator: organizes engaging activities that appeal to and are available to everyone in your workplace. Special events provide an opportunity to have fun with your campaign, build awareness and raise some additional funds for United Way.

Another important role, outside of the committee, is the position of canvasser. Canvassers add a personal touch to the campaign by making individual visits to colleagues, answering questions about United Way and your campaign, and asking potential donors if they would like to support the work of United Way.
